Oscar


Okay, dudes and dudettes, it's time for the 80th Academy Awards. So get your wine, cheese and crackers and plop yourself on the couch.

Even though I haven't seen any of the movies or performances nominated, I think it's fun to predict the winners and see how many I get right. So here's my predictions for this years Oscars:

PICTURE: 'No Country for Old Men'

DIRECTOR: Julian Schnabel,'The Diving Bell and the Butterfly'

ACTOR: Daniel Day-Lewis,'There Will Be Blood'

ACTRESS: Julie Christie,'Away From Her'

SUPPORTING ACTOR: Javier Bardem,'No Country for Old Men'

SUPPORTING ACTRESS: Amy Ryan,'Gone Baby Gone'

ANIMATED FILM: 'Ratatouille'

FOREIGN FILM: 'The Counterfeiters'-Austria

ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY: Diablo Cody,'Juno'

ADAPTED SCREENPLAY: Joel & Ethan Coen,'No Country for Old Men'

DOCUMENTARY: 'No End in Sight'

ORIGINAL SCORE: 'Atonement'

ORIGINAL SONG: "Falling Slowly",'Once'

FILM EDITING: 'The Bourne Ultimatum'

DOCUMENTARY SHORT: 'Sari's Mother'

CINEMATOGRAPHY: 'No Country for Old Men'

And the Oscar goes to....


Well, folks! I only got 10 out of 24 correct.
BTW, watch "Le Vie en Rose" and you'll know why Marion Coulliette(sp) got best actress . Her portayal of the French cabaret singer, Edith Piaf, is superb!
