Tough To Leave Paradise

I know Justin hates the Eagles--sorry, buddy :)-'tis Don Henley.

Thank You, Rhode Island

Keri and Justin are truly the most beautiful people I've ever met. Thank you both for your gracious 'go-with-the flow, that's how we roll' hospitality.
What a wonderful three weeks it's been!

For Poochie

Feeling As Free As A Bird

There's something about sitting on a porch with wonderful, beautiful friends on a hot spring day.
I want this feeling to last forever.
It is now my mission in life.

Death Cab For Cutie

Justin won four tickets to a Death Cab for Cutie concert at the Providence Piers.
They play tonight. Since there's an extra ticket, our friend, David is coming along.
Should be loads of fun!

Turned out, the Piers was an outdoor venue, and due to rain, the concert was moved to a hockey auditorium at Brown University. Way cool!

Doherty's East Ave. Rocks!

This place is great. Great food, tons of draught beer and did I mention the food--OMG!
It's Justin's favorite place to go. And it's right around the corner next to the Modern Diner.
Here's a video Justin took not long ago at Doherty's.

A Nice Long Walk

KJ & I took a nice stroll down to Providence. The weather's been perfect for picture taking and doing drinks and lunch on the outdoor seating of Kartabar, a really nice place on one of my favorite streets, Thayer.--the other being, of course, Wickenden.

Thayer St, which reminds of Pacific St in Santa Cruz, is just up the hill from Brown
University, so you could imagine the fine people watching I was doing! I could have
sat at Kartabar all day.

We did more picture taking along our walk down College Hill to the river's
waterfront. Those streets reminded me of San Francisco.

As the evening came, we had dinner at Waterplace. This restaurant is beautiful. It's right on the river and the food and desert drinks were awesome.

As soon as the pictures are edited, I'll post some of them.

The Modern Diner

K&J and I just had breakfast at Modern Diner. I had the linguica hash omelette.
Holy cow! It was delicious. The place is awesome. Classic American diner eats.
I'm definitely going there again and again.--And it's just around the corner!

Entomophagy

Well folks, I'm finally on my vacation in beautiful Pawtucket, Rhode Island, visiting Keri and Justin. Last night we met a gentleman named David Gracer. He had lived in the apartment prior and some mail came for him so Keri contacted him and invited him over.
Turns out he's a bug eater. He brought some leafcutter ants, wax worms, and crickets.
Keri made a loaf of cricket bread and since the ground crickets smelled and tasted like malt, she thought they would be great in pancakes. The pancakes were great, by the way.
David smashed the wax worms into a bowl and added fresh garlic. It looked like pesto and was
pretty tasty. I spread some on a slice of cricket bread. It wasn't bad at all.
He was just recently a guest on the Colbert Report.
Here's the video...
